Changelog
Release history for Lanjut
v1.6.0
LatestFourteen new templates
Polos, Garis, Anggun, Tegas, Segar, Rapi, Lugas, Kertas, Jurnal, Kode, Mesin, Ringkas, Tengah, and Elok. Each one has its own type and spacing, and like every template, it keeps the order an applicant tracking system reads.
Colors for your resume
Pick a color for your name, section headings, lines, and links in the Styling tab. Every color stays easy to read: Lanjut refuses one that is too light on white.
Contact labels
Show a short word such as LinkedIn in place of a long address. The link still opens the full address, and Lanjut tells you when a label hides it from applicant tracking systems.
A download page for the desktop app
lanjut.org/download picks the right installer for your computer and starts the download right away, with a thank-you note and a Try again button. It also shows what to do when macOS or Windows warns you the first time you open the app.
A clearer home page
The home page now shows the editor itself and lists every feature in one place: CV profiles, templates, import, export, offline use, and more. The menu at the top links the templates, the guides, and the download page.
Full-size template previews in the guide
The ATS resume example guide now shows five templates. Tap one to see every page at full size, then pick it in one click.
Guides closer at hand
The home page and the templates page now link to the guides: the question about applicant tracking systems leads to the how-to guide, and the templates page leads to a full example in every template.
Guides
Two new guides, in English and Indonesian: a full ATS résumé example shown in all six templates, and how to make an ATS-friendly résumé step by step. Find them under Guides at the bottom of the home page.
Bug fixes
Each answer on the home page now makes sense on its own, so search engines and AI tools quote it correctly. The Privacy page shows when it was last updated.
A privacy page
A new Privacy page, linked at the bottom of the home page, lists what stays on your device and every time Lanjut talks to a server.
Bug fixes
In Indonesian, the app now says CV everywhere instead of resume. The templates page has a short introduction, and several Indonesian sentences now read more naturally.
Templates in the menu
The menu at the top of the home page now has an "Explore templates" link, and its main button says "Build a resume". The editor and template pages also have shorter names in your browser tab.
An Indonesian sample résumé
In Indonesian, the sample résumé is now in Indonesian too, with Indonesian headings and dates. You see it on the home page, on the templates page, and when you start a new résumé from the sample.
Bug fixes
Screen readers and search engines now find one clear main heading on the home page, the templates page, and the feedback page. The home page answers "What is Lanjut?" first among its questions, and the Indonesian home page now says CV throughout. Importing a PDF of an Indonesian résumé now keeps its dates, a language list that starts with "Bahasa", and an address that wraps onto a second line.
Lanjut 1.0, now on Windows and Linux
The desktop app now runs on Windows and Linux, as well as on the Mac. It is the same editor, it keeps working offline, and your résumés stay on your own machine. Download it from the home page. The app is no longer a beta.
Bug fixes
On Windows, pages no longer show two gray scrollbars along their edges. On a wide screen, your library and the templates now use the full width of the window instead of a narrow column in the middle.
A faster home page
The home page now opens faster, most of all on phones. The sample resume shows right away, and the page stays smooth while Lanjut reads the PDF back. Downloading or importing a PDF no longer freezes the page either.
Bug fixes
The green buttons on the home page are a little darker, so their text is easier to read. Screen readers now read each template choice by the name you see.
Bug fixes
On a phone or a tablet, the template previews in the new resume steps now show each template as it really looks. The text was centered before.
Pages show at once
When you open your library, the templates, your profiles, or a resume in a browser, the page layout now shows right away and your content fills in a moment later. The loading animation that covered the whole page no longer shows there.
Developer mode: your resume as text
Turn on Developer mode in Preferences, and the editor gets a Form and Code switch. Code shows your resume as Markdown, YAML, or JSON, alone or beside the page, and the page follows the text as you type. Lanjut does not apply a text that has an error, so your resume stays as it was. Developer mode is off until you turn it on.
One tab edits at a time
Open the same resume or profile in two tabs, and only one tab edits it. The other shows that it is open elsewhere, and Edit here moves the editing to that tab. Your library and your profile list now update across tabs too.
Bug fixes
If the same resume or profile is open in two tabs, saving in one no longer overwrites changes made in the other. Lanjut asks which version to keep, and can save yours as a copy.
Works offline
After your first visit to the app, Lanjut opens, saves, and exports with no internet. A PDF in a template you have not used yet needs the internet once, to get its fonts.
Bug fixes
If an older copy of Lanjut is still open in another tab, it no longer saves over a resume that a newer copy changed. It tells you so and asks you to refresh the page.
Paste or drop your photo
The photo field in Personal Information now takes an image you paste or drop. Copy a photo, open Personal Information, and press Ctrl+V or Cmd+V. Or drag the image file onto the photo field.
Lead with your skills
The section order menu, beside undo and redo above the preview, now offers Skills first. It moves Skills right below your summary, for a resume that leads with what you can do. Experience first brings back the standard order. Your entries still list the newest first.
Bug fixes
Importing a PDF that Lanjut made now brings back the company context line, company and project links, and each certificate’s issuer, and reads the Ketat and Luasa layouts correctly. Text the PDF prints in capitals still comes back in capitals.
Bug fixes
Russian and other Cyrillic text now prints in your PDF with every template and font. With the default fonts it used to come out blank. Letters such as ł, ő, and ş from other European languages print now too.
Bug fixes
The changelog was missing the 0.21.0 release. It is there now.
Every release in one place
The changelog now has its own page, Changelog, under Other in the sidebar. It lists every Lanjut release, newest first, with its date and what changed, and each version links to its release on GitHub. The footer of the home page links to it too.
Bug fixes
On phones and tablets, a template preview now opens in a panel that slides up from the bottom of the screen, and the whole page fits its width.
Bug fixes
On phones, the icon and the label on each tile under Create a new resume now line up.
Bug fixes
Fixed two bugs on phones. On an iPhone, the sheet in the home page demo now moves when you drag it. The home page also no longer scrolls sideways.
A clearer link preview
When you share a link to Lanjut in a chat or a post, its preview image now says what Lanjut is: a free, open-source resume builder that needs no account and keeps your resume on your device. A resume page sits beside the text. A link to the Indonesian site gets its own image, written in Indonesian.
Bug fixes
The people who build Lanjut now appear on the home page as soon as it opens. Before, their faces stayed grey circles until you scrolled down to them.
See your resume before you create it
Creating a resume now takes three short steps: where to start, which template, and a name. On a large screen, a preview beside the steps shows every page as you choose, even for a file you import. On a phone, swipe through the templates.
Profiles for every kind of job
Keep one profile for each kind of job or job market. Each profile keeps its own resumes, and every new resume in it starts with its name, contact details, and summary. Manage profiles on the new Profiles page, and switch between them from your avatar in the top bar. A short tour shows you around the first time you open it. Theme, language, and animation now live in Preferences in the same menu.
A library that starts where you stopped
Your library now opens on the resume you edited last, one click from the editor. Below it, start a new resume from a blank page, the sample, a file, or a template. Every resume shows its template, and you can sort by name or last edit and switch between a grid and a list.
Try a template on your own resume
The template page now shows each template at full size, every page. Preview it on the sample or on one of your resumes, then apply it in one click. If you change your mind, Undo in the editor brings the old template back.
A sidebar that folds to icons
Hide the sidebar and it now folds into a slim row of icons instead of leaving the screen. Hover an icon to see its name. Open, it lists your five latest resumes.
Meet the people behind Lanjut
Your library now thanks everyone who builds Lanjut, with a direct way to join them: translate it, fix a bug, or build a feature.
Feedback that gets fixed faster
Send feedback now walks you through what helps most: what you did, what you expected, and what happened instead. It shows reports like yours as you type, tells you exactly what it attaches, and links you to the issue once it is filed. You can also point out a wrong word or translation.
Your PDF now matches the preview
PDF downloads are now drawn from the same page you see in the editor, so the fonts, sizes, and spacing in the file match the preview. The text stays selectable for applicant tracking systems.
Turn animations off
A new settings menu in the top bar holds your language and an animation switch. Pick Off to stop movement on screen, or System to follow your device. The theme switch now sits right next to it.
Know your résumé is saved
The top bar of the editor now shows when your résumé is saved on this device. If the browser ever refuses to save, it tells you right away and how to keep a copy.
See how ready your resume is
A bar above your resume preview shows how ready it is to send, from 0% to Ready to send. Open it to see what is still missing, and pick an item to go straight to that field. Only your own words count, not the sample's. The library's first card shows the same score as a ring.
More room for the preview on large screens
On a wide screen, the editing panel keeps a comfortable width, and the page preview gets the extra room.
A faster first PDF
Your first PDF download now starts sooner. The editor gets the PDF maker ready while you open the download, and it loads only the fonts your template uses.
A Styling tab
Font, sizes, spacing, and the resume's language now have their own Styling tab, grouped into Typography, Spacing, and General. Each slider shows its value, each group has its own reset, and a Density choice (Compact, Balanced, Airy) sets the spacing in one click.
A clearer Document tab
The Document tab is now grouped into Download, Backup, and Import. Each download format says when to use it, and a JSON or YAML backup can be copied or downloaded in one place.
Forms that use a wider panel
Drag the editing panel wider, and the fields in each section sit side by side in two columns.
Paste JSON or YAML
Paste a resume you copied as JSON or YAML into the Document tab. The text shows in color, and any mistake shows before you import it.
Back up a profile
Download a profile with all its resumes as one small file, then import it on another device to carry on there. On a phone, Share sends it through AirDrop, Nearby Share, or a cloud app. Nothing goes to a server, and an import never deletes anything: where both devices have a resume, the newer one wins.
Bug fixes
During a guided tour, the button that a step points at no longer reacts to a click or a key, so the tour cannot open a menu or a sheet under its own card. Importing a PDF résumé now puts each link in its own field, such as your website or a certificate link, instead of showing the address as text.
Add context about a company
Experience and internship entries now have an optional company context field for briefly explaining an unfamiliar employer. It appears in every preview and export before your achievements.
Bug fixes
On phones, the resume demo on the home page ran far past the edge of the screen and made the whole page too wide. It now fits.
The Mac app can update itself
When a new version is out, the Mac app now offers it to you. It looks at most once every few days, and nothing installs until you click.
Bug fixes
In the Mac app the sidebar covered the page when the app opened, and the button that hides it did nothing. Both are fixed.
The Mac app checks for updates
The Mac app now looks for new versions. This release went out without the files an update needs, so updates only began to work in 0.17.1.
Bug fixes
In the Mac app, the sidebar opened on top of the page, and its collapse button did nothing until you switched languages. The window now lays out correctly when it opens.
Bug fixes
The 0.16.0 release went out with no Mac app attached, so the download button on the home page led to an empty release. The app is there now.
Lanjut on your Mac
There is now a Mac app. It is the same builder you already use, running on your own machine, and it keeps working with the network off. Your resumes stay on that machine. Download it from the link on the home page. It is a beta and it is not signed by Apple yet, so macOS will ask you to confirm the first time you open it.
A page for feedback
Bug reports and feature requests now have their own page, so you can send one from anywhere, including from the Mac app. You still do not need a GitHub account.
Getting the Mac app ready
This release built most of the Mac app. The Lanjut logo shows while it starts, you can send feedback from inside it, links open in your browser, and an export asks where to save the file. The download link came in the next release.
Add a photo to your header
You can now put a photo on your resume. It is optional and off by default. Add it in Personal Information, then pick the size, corner roundness, and position. It comes along in PDF and Word exports, and the text of your resume stays fully readable to parsers.
A fresh new look
Lanjut has a new logo and a rebuilt landing page. The previews there are rendered by the real templates, so what you see is exactly what you get.
Support Lanjut
Lanjut is free and always will be. If it helped you, you can now support development through Saweria or SociaBuzz, right from the sidebar or the footer.
One more link in your header
A new optional Link field sits next to LinkedIn in Personal Information, for your portfolio, GitHub, or anything else. It shows in the preview and every export, and importing a PDF picks it up too.
Undo and redo
Change your mind freely: every edit can now be undone and redone, from typing and deleted entries to section order and layout settings. Use the arrows beside the sidebar tabs or Ctrl/Cmd+Z, and each text field keeps its own history while you write.
One section at a time
The editor list now keeps a single section open, so the form you are working in stays in view instead of pushing the others off screen.
Bug fixes
Fixed three reported bugs: links in your exports now show as clickable, a stray dash no longer appears in the PDF contact line, and locations land in the right field when you import a PDF.
Company location
Experience and internship entries now carry a location, shown next to the employer in the preview, the PDF, and every other export. Education locations render too, instead of being kept out of sight.
Bug fixes
An entry in your PDF no longer splits across two pages. When an entry does not fit at the bottom of a page, the whole entry moves to the next one, as it does in the preview.
Bug fixes
Fixed two bugs. Words with fi or fl in your PDF now come through whole when a tool pulls out the text. "fintech" used to come back as "fntech", and some applicant tracking systems read PDFs this way. In the Projects section, the project name is now the link, not your role.
Feedback without a GitHub account
Report a bug or request a feature right from the app; we file the GitHub issue for you under the name you provide, guarded by a quick verification.
JSON and YAML export and import
Copy or download your resume as JSON or YAML, and import either back losslessly. Rich text travels as simple markdown.
Hide sections
Every section, Summary included, now has an eye toggle in the editor list. Hidden sections keep their content but drop out of the preview and every export until you show them again.
Hide contact icons
A new toggle in the Document tab hides the small icons next to your contact details, for a plainer header in the preview and PDF. Your contact text always stays.
Section spacing
A slider in the Document tab adjusts the room above every section, in the preview and the PDF alike. Open it up for an airy layout, or tighten it below each template's default until sections sit flush.
Choose your font
Pick from fifteen resume-safe fonts, grouped as sans, serif, and mono, and the whole document follows in the preview and the PDF. Every template keeps its own default until you choose, and the preview now renders the exact same font files the PDF embeds.
Line height and letter spacing
Two more sliders in the Document tab, resting at each template's real values: tighten or loosen line height and letter spacing either way, both bounded to the range where PDF text still extracts cleanly, so your styling never costs you ATS parsing.
Font size controls
Resize your name, section headings, and body text independently from the Document tab. Each slider scales its group on top of the template's proportions, so a bigger name never flattens the rest, and the preview and PDF stay in step.
Bug fixes
A deleted resume could come back after you reloaded the page. Deleting now removes it from your device at once, and Undo still brings it back while the countdown runs. The guided tour's backdrop also stands out in the dark theme now.
Bug fixes
The home page loads faster on phones, because its screenshots now download at the size your screen shows them. The language switch also works better with screen readers.
Bug fixes
A problem kept new versions of Lanjut from going live: the PDF and Word export code made the site too big to publish. It is fixed, and updates go out again.
Import from PDF
Start a new resume from an existing PDF. Lanjut reads it in your browser and fills the sections for you to tidy up.
Custom sections
Add your own sections beyond the built-in set, either as a rich text block or a list of entries.
Reorder certifications
Drag certifications into the order you want, the same way skills and languages already work.
Hide proficiency
Turn the proficiency level off on skills and languages when you would rather just list them, with a toggle in each section.
Language columns
Show your languages in one column or two, matching the layout control already in Skills.
Undo a deletion
Deleting a resume now waits ten seconds and shows an Undo, so an accidental delete is easy to take back.
Duplicate a resume
Copy any resume from its menu to branch a new version without starting over.
Skills column layout
A toggle in the Skills section switches between one and two columns, and your choice carries through to the preview and every export.
Newest entries first
The editor lists your entries newest first, matching the order they appear in the preview, so the forms and your resume always line up.
New landing navbar
The landing page has a new navigation bar, with a menu that opens cleanly on mobile.
Page load progress
Moving between pages shows a slim progress bar at the top, so you get instant feedback while a page loads.
Internship section
List internships as their own entries, separate from full-time roles, with the same fields as Experience.
Projects section
Give side projects, open-source work, and anything you have shipped their own space, each with a name, link, dates, and description.
Blank resume preview
A blank resume shows a preview placeholder in your library instead of an empty white card, so a new resume looks intentional until you start writing.
Bahasa Indonesia
Switch the entire interface between English and Indonesian anytime with the language toggle in the navbar.
Per-resume language
Pick English or Indonesian per document, and the section headings and dates in your PDF, DOCX, and TXT exports follow that choice.
Reorder skills and languages
Grab the handle next to an entry and drag it into place, or use the keyboard to move it. The new order flows straight into the preview and every export.
Empty section prompts
Instead of a lone button, each section without entries shows a short prompt for what to add.
Refreshed hero gradient
The landing page hero heading has a new gradient, tuned for both light and dark mode.
Switch templates in the editor
The new Layout tab shows your resume rendered in every template, and one click applies your pick.
Start from a blank resume
Untick “Pre-fill with example content” in the create dialog to begin with a blank document instead of the example resume.
Emptyable sections
Every entry has a delete button, and removing the last one drops the section from the preview until you add another.
Bug fixes
On small screens, the buttons in the top bar sit in a row again, and the close button on side panels is rounded like the other controls.
Organization section
Showcase volunteer, student, and community roles with dates and highlights, just like work experience. It shows up in every template and export, and existing resumes get it automatically.
Safer app updates
A backup copy is kept on your device before any data-format upgrade, and a resume the app cannot read yet is flagged with a notice instead of disappearing.
Guided tour
A guided tour walks you through the dashboard, the templates, and the editor on your first visit.
Landing page walkthrough
The landing page walks through how Lanjut works, ending with a one-click way to start a new resume.
Report bugs and requests
Report a bug or feature request from the sidebar; we prefill the GitHub issue for you.
Mobile drawers
On your phone, dialogs open as drawers that are easier to reach and swipe away.
Bug fixes
The image that shows when you share a link to Lanjut made the site too big to publish, so new versions could not go live. It is now a plain image file, and updates go out again.
Template browser
Browse templates on their own page, with search and sorting.
Five new templates
Ketat, Luasa, Tebal, Klasik, and Ketik.
Live thumbnails
Template and resume cards show a live thumbnail of your actual document.
Sidebar and quick actions
The sidebar highlights where you are, and each resume gets a quick actions menu.
Export your resume
Save your resume as PDF, DOCX, or plain text.
Rich text in the preview
Bold, italics, links, and lists show up in the live preview.
Full editor sections
The editor covers summary, experience, education, skills, certifications, and languages.
