You need no account to use Lanjut, and it has no analytics or ads. Your résumés stay on your device. Below is every time the site talks to a server, so you can check each one.
What stays on your device
Your résumés, your profiles, and your settings are saved in your browser's own storage on this device. They are never sent to a server. If you clear the site's data or change browsers, they are gone, so keep a backup from the Profile page.
When Lanjut talks to a server
- Loading the site. Cloudflare serves lanjut.org. Like any web host, it receives the usual details of each request, such as your IP address and browser.
- Your language. When you pick a language, a small cookie remembers it, so lanjut.org opens in that language next time.
- Offline use. The site keeps a copy of its own files in your browser, so it still opens without a connection. That copy holds no résumé.
- Feedback. When you send feedback, what you write becomes a public issue on GitHub. Before you send it, you see the technical details that go with it, such as your browser and the page, and you can leave them out. Your résumé text is never part of it. A Cloudflare check (Turnstile) confirms that a person sent it.
- Contributors. The home page shows the people who build Lanjut. Your browser loads their profile pictures from GitHub.
- Desktop updates. The desktop app checks GitHub for a new version at most once every three days. Nothing installs until you click.
- Desktop downloads. The download buttons get the app from GitHub, where Lanjut publishes each release. Like any host, GitHub receives the usual details of that request.
- Donations. The Saweria and SociaBuzz links are plain links. Those sites open only when you click them.
